Jesus’s error (eng) (from MoM#5)
di Claudio Curciotti
.
In the Gospels (…) is narrated the life of a jew preacher who was to raise consciences of the coming of God’s reign, he interpreted the Holy Scriptures the way he felt more authentic. Being accused not clearly, he looked unprotected in front of his prosecutors. The reign did not come true. He missed his goal. He was wrong”. First error.
This is part of the introduction that Brunella Antomarine wrote in her dissertation, only 86 pages are enough for the author to argue for her detailed analysis on Christian religion. An anthropologic approach to the Gospels, even the Unauthentic ones, which is pointing at the esthetic aspect of such scripts, when looking for the reason of its massive and continuous diffusion.
It seems incredible how she can easily face such a wide phenomenon, even if this could be the reason why her arguments are so strong. By reading the Scriptures from the point of view of a man rather than from the one of God, by thinking of ourselves as humans rather than sons of some sovereign deity, it is possible to spot in the story by the Gospels, errors, mistakes, where others preferred to see premonitions, signs, destiny.
Her greatest strength is recognising the psychological and cultural mechanisms that lie at the hearth of the spread of Christianity.
Jesus wanted to interpret the Scriptures his way, and as every other heretical or nonconformist, he was prosecuted and, being the time so hard, killed. Second error, even predictable. Because it was predictable we can get to name it predestination, and we can say that he could foresee his death, he was willing to die, Jesus knew it, he died for us.
In the end the faithful, as the those who follow any idol, are nurtured by the death of their master and they justify it as long as possible. Also Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain died, for their faithful, not because they were on drugs, but because of the system. And so everybody went tripping and then sedating, in order to live like them and to emulate their error.
It seemed unbelievable to see Jesus crucified. The fact was unexpected, non logical and so divine, if considered from an animistic point of view, like children or primitive humans. As it happened with lightning and thunders, before meteorology explained them. Third error, perspectiva.
The News, as they were called by the Apostles themselves, spread orally as all the other news that are not big ones: being distorted, covered and coloured. As a matter of fact it spread as a strong idea, plenty of incentives, but not for this necessarily true. So, since the News had to keep the movement alive, it was tailor-made for this to have a strong and fascinating impact.
In a way Jesus gave the briefing and the Apostles, the Evangelists, everybody did his bit in running the most successful publicity campaign in history.
